Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using GridRelay's European Energy Data API service ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement.

2. Description of Service

GridRelay provides real-time and historical European energy data through our API, including but not limited to load data, generation data, CO2 emissions, pricing information, grid balancing data, cross-border transmission data, renewable curtailment data, and grid stress metrics.

3. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

4. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall GridRelay, its owners, or operators be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service. We are not liable for any damages or losses which may be caused by the use of our Service.

5. Hosting and Infrastructure

The Service is hosted on a personal server and delivered through Cloudflare. You acknowledge that the infrastructure may have limitations and is not guaranteed to be available or performant at all times.

6. API Usage and Rate Limits

The Service is currently offered as a free service with the following usage limits:

  • Free Tier: 1,000 API calls per month, 5 requests per second

Exceeding these limits may result in temporary suspension of service. If you require higher limits, please contact us.

7. Data Accuracy and Availability

While we strive to provide accurate and timely data, GridRelay makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the data provided through our API. Energy data is sourced from various Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and may be subject to delays or inaccuracies from the original sources.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data
  • Resell or redistribute our data without explicit written permission
  • Use the Service to create competing energy data services
  • Overload our systems with excessive requests beyond your tier limits

9. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by GridRelay and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
